The review article and website describe the two main approaches to measuring environmental impact: life cycle assessment (LCA) and economic input-output analysis. LCA is internationally recognized, standard approach to assessment of the entire lifecycle of a product or service with granular inputs. The Healthcare LCA webpage provides a living repository of healthcare sustainability assessments from health systems, hospitals, procedures, equipment, and pharmaceuticals across the world and across all medical specialties.
